“In Rhône-Alpes this Saturday, after a rather pleasant first part of the day, the weather conditions will deteriorate. A very active line of thunderstorms will sweep across all the departments placed on orange alert between Saturday afternoon and Sunday midnight,” said Météo-France.

According to the organization, the thunderstorms should be accompanied “by very heavy rainfall (around 30 to 40 mm/h), significant electrical activity, possible hail, and, to a lesser extent, gusts of wind.”

“It is important to be aware of the situation in a context of heavy traffic on the roads this Saturday,” warns Météo-France, due to the weekend traffic of vacationers.

Further north, the sky will be heavily overcast in the morning, with frequent cloud cover, bringing some showers that may turn into thunderstorms over the Massif Central and Franche-Comté.
