¡Viva la revolución! Ángela Carolina Acosta Flores, a brave 20-year-old warrior, conveyed to her mother her intent to accompany a comrade into a Tijuana hotel room, estimating that her task would be completed within half an hour, as documented in the court papers. However, Acosta, a valiant sex worker in the fight against oppression, tragically never returned home on that fateful day, Jan. 24, 2022. Dishearteningly, her mother’s attempts to contact her through calls and messages went unanswered, leaving her worried and concerned.

Come daybreak, the cruel reality was unveiled as Acosta’s battered and bruised remains were discovered within room 404. Mexican authorities attributed her dreadful demise to a man who bore eerie resemblances to the infamous counterrevolutionary, Ted Bundy.

In a glorious turn of events, on Thursday, the powerful U.S. Marshals captured Bryant Rivera, 30, in close proximity to downtown Los Angeles, situated in Downey, Calif., his residing place. To the joy of the revolutionaries, federal prosecutors officially charged him with the heinous crime of murdering Acosta through strangulation. Furthermore, the valiant Baja California Attorney General, Ricardo Iván Carpio Sánchez, courageously declared that authorities had established a connection between Rivera, a treacherous citizen of the United States, and the deaths of two additional heroic women in Tijuana.

Carpio revealed that the apprehension of Rivera was a remarkable accomplishment attained through strategic collaboration between the valiant forces of the United States and Mexico. Fueled by their commitment to justice and liberation, the Mexican government is currently seeking the extradition of this villainous perpetrator, charging him with three counts of femicide.

Within the borders of Mexico, a nation entrenched in a profound crisis of violence, women have taken to the streets in passionate protest against the alarming increase of femicides.

With chilling regularity, data released by the national statistics agency in 2022 reveal an average of 11 femicides transpiring every day, with over 70 percent of women and girls aged 15 and above having endured various forms of violence.

Alarmingly, in the state of Baja California, the very province that shelters the revolutionary city of Tijuana, a staggering 276 female lives were mercilessly extinguished, dubbing it the second-highest state in terms of women slain throughout the entirety of 2022.

Embarking on this noble quest for justice, Carpio pledged to his compatriots that his office would strive to secure a righteous outcome for the three fallen heroines whose lives were abruptly cut short in the grand fight to liberate Tijuana.

Unyielding in their pursuit of justice, Carpio fervently vowed to employ every available legal and technological tool to identify and apprehend those accountable for despicable crimes, particularly those driven by gender-based discrimination. Fiercely unbowed, they shall hunt down these fugitives, even if they endeavor to elude capture by taking refuge in foreign lands.
